Who handles your information
DoGoodie // The Ethical Capacity Lab is the public organizer responsible for the DoGoodie processes described here. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to dogoodie.community@gmail.com.
Information we may collect
Information you choose to provide through a challenge application, final submission, Builder Profile, Discord, Facebook, or another authorized process may include your preferred or legal name, contact details, organization, account or payout information, skills, interests, project information, evidence, eligibility details, and consent choices. The current challenge application may request payout information from applicants before acceptance. Provide only what the authorized form requires and do not send unnecessary sensitive information.
Discord and community information
Discord may process account, message, server, device, and usage information under its own terms and privacy policy. DoGoodie may access information you share in community channels, onboarding, moderation, or support processes when needed to operate and protect the community.
Builder Profiles and challenge submissions
Builder Profile responses are used for community understanding, learning interests, collaboration preferences, and consent-based future matching. Challenge applications and final submissions are separate systems used for eligibility, funding, review, proof, recognition, safety, and program learning. The confirmed forms use Google Forms and may require a Google account or sign-in.
Why information may be used
We may use information when reasonably necessary to operate challenges, review eligibility and submissions, issue experiment funds or prizes, support builders, moderate the community, respond to inquiries, improve programs, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet financial or legal obligations. Where required, processing may rely on your consent, steps you request before participating, performance of program terms, legitimate operational or safety interests, or legal obligations. Approved proof-of-work is showcased only with explicit permission.
Public proof and consent
Private participant data is not automatically public. Public proof requires consent. Contact details, private profiles, legal names, internal notes, reviewer scores, private inquiries, ticket transcripts, and unredacted evidence are not intended for public display. Participants may choose a public alias and may request redaction, correction, withdrawal of showcase permission, or reasonable removal, subject to legal and operational limits.
Analytics and cookies
The public site does not currently configure invasive analytics. Basic hosting logs may still record information such as request time, page, browser, device, network address, and approximate location. If optional analytics or cookies are added later, the configuration and this policy should be updated before they are enabled.
Third-party services and international processing
Google Forms, Formspree, Discord, Facebook, GitHub Pages, payment providers, and other tools you choose to use may receive or process information under their own policies, including in countries outside your own. Formspree processes website inquiry contents, contact details, and associated technical metadata to deliver messages to DoGoodie’s official email. DoGoodie does not control every third-party security, location, or retention practice. Review those services before submitting information.
Who may access information
Access should be limited to people who reasonably need information for community operations, support, review, safety, funding, finance, legal obligations, or technical maintenance. Information should not be sold or made public merely because it was submitted.
Retention
Information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including program administration, funding and finance records, safety, disputes, consent history, abuse prevention, and legal obligations. Retention periods may differ by record type and may depend on the third-party service holding the record. Information that is no longer reasonably needed should be deleted or anonymized when practical and lawful.
Security limitations
Reasonable safeguards should be used, but no website, form, community platform, payment service, or storage system can promise absolute security. Avoid sending passwords, identity documents, payment details, exact addresses, or private evidence unless an authorized process specifically requires them.
Access, correction, and deletion
You may ask to access, correct, or delete information associated with you, or withdraw optional public-showcase permission. Use the contact page. Reasonable identity verification may be required, and some records may be retained when needed for safety, finance, disputes, or legal obligations.
Age requirements
The $5 Impact Hack is open only to people age 18 or older. DoGoodie is not designed to collect personal information from young children. Do not participate in any process if you cannot lawfully agree to its terms.
