Organizer and contact
These Terms are issued by DoGoodie // The Ethical Capacity Lab for the DoGoodie website, community, and challenge. Questions may be sent to dogoodie.community@gmail.com or raised through the official community routes on the Contact page.
Using the site and community
Use DoGoodie lawfully, respectfully, and consistently with the Community Standards. Do not interfere with the site, impersonate others, submit malicious content, misuse private information, bypass safeguards, or use DoGoodie to facilitate harm, fraud, harassment, exploitation, or illegal activity.
Challenge participation and eligibility
The $5 Impact Hack is for individual participants age 18 or older. Applications are global, subject to payment, legal, safety, sanctions, and practical feasibility. Teams are not eligible. Applying does not guarantee acceptance. Up to 200 approved participants may be funded, subject to verification and payment feasibility.
Confirmed schedule
Applications open July 20, 2026 at 12:00 AM PHT and close July 27 at 11:59 PM PHT. Application review runs July 28–29, acceptance notifications run July 28–30, and funding is scheduled for July 30–31. The seven-calendar-day challenge runs from August 1 at 12:00 AM through August 7 at 11:59 PM PHT. Judging begins after the deadline; the winner announcement date is to be announced.
Experiment funds, other resources, and prize
Each approved participant may receive a $5 USD experiment fund, or a local-currency equivalent determined at payout, for up to 200 participants and up to $1,000 total. The fund is not a wage, salary, employment payment, or prize. Payment eligibility, supported payout methods, sanctions screening, local law, and operational feasibility apply. Currency conversion and payment-provider fees may affect the amount received. Participants are responsible for any taxes, reporting, or charges that apply to them.
Additional funds, existing tools, free services, equipment, donated resources, or platform credits may be used if disclosed honestly. Spending more does not improve a score by itself. The separate confirmed Grand Prize is $250 USD, or an applicable local-currency equivalent, and is awarded after eligible review. The winner notification method and any lawful claim steps will be published with the winner announcement; that announcement date is currently to be announced.
Evidence, honesty, and disqualification
DoGoodie may reject, remove, or disqualify applications, participants, or submissions for false evidence, fabricated data, plagiarism, scams, unsafe or unlawful conduct, harassment, doxxing, exploitation, privacy or consent violations, misuse of funds, missed requirements, platform-rule violations, harmful activity, or misleading impact claims.
Ownership and credit
Builders retain ownership of original work unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. Existing capstones are not absorbed by DoGoodie merely because they are used in a challenge. Builders must have the right to use third-party content, code, data, and assets.
Review, winner, and ties
Eligible submissions are evaluated using the published 35-point rubric. Skyler Hoffman makes the final winner decision. Ties are resolved in this exact order: Impact score, Evidence score, Execution score, then Skyler Hoffman’s documented decision if a tie remains.
Certificates and recognition
Eligible completers with a valid final submission receive a certificate. Public website verification is planned but not yet available. A LinkedIn badge or placard is not currently confirmed.
Display permission
Public showcase permission is not an ownership transfer. DoGoodie may ask for limited permission to display an approved submission, project title, public name or alias, screenshots, links, results, or reflection. Sharing requires participant consent and may be subject to redaction, correction, or reasonable removal requests.
Future projects and intellectual property
Any future funded collaboration, contract, licensed tool, or clearly scoped project may use a separate written agreement covering deliverables, compensation, timelines, ownership, licenses, confidentiality, review, and termination. Participation in the community does not create those terms automatically.
No employment, project, or funding guarantee
Joining DoGoodie, completing a Builder Profile, participating in a challenge, earning recognition, or becoming a Core Builder does not guarantee employment, paid work, project assignment, mentoring, funding, contracts, or permanent status.
Program changes and cancellation
The challenge may be changed, paused, postponed, or cancelled when reasonably necessary for safety, compliance, funding, technical, operational, or integrity reasons. Official material updates will be posted through the DoGoodie Discord and Facebook page.
Third-party tools
Google Forms, Formspree, Discord, GitHub Pages, payment services, and other third-party tools have their own terms, availability, security, and privacy practices. Formspree is used to deliver website inquiry submissions to DoGoodie’s official email. DoGoodie is not responsible for every third-party outage, policy, account decision, or data practice.
Service limitations
The site and community are provided on an evolving, availability-dependent basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, DoGoodie cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, specific outcomes, funding, or fitness for every purpose. Nothing here excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Applicable laws
These Terms are subject to applicable laws and mandatory rights in the places relevant to the organizer and participant. No governing jurisdiction or exclusive venue is designated on this site.
